The living/kitchen space combines a gorgeous new kitchen that opens into a comfortable, charming living room. It has a lovely antique desk, comfortable love seat and chairs, a breakfast table and an eating counter. The granite counter opens onto the brand new kitchen with granite counter tops, all new stainless steel appliances (stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, sink and disposal, microwave) and a spacious pantry. Slightly north of the College of Charleston on historic St. Philip Street this charming cottage is the perfect base to enjoy an enchanting Charleston experience. Charleston is like Rome Italy in that most of notable monuments and historic details are found in a fairly confined area. You can literally walk from the Cottage to the southernmost extremes of the Historic District in under thirty minutes. This journey will take you through the Historic King Street District, and the neighborhoods of Cannonborough, Elliottborough , Radcliffborough, Harleston Village, and finally South of Broad, until you reach the Battery itself. Go east one block and you are on King Street, the home of designer shops, eclectic boutiques, antique stores, and host of other fascinating shops as well as nationally acclaimed restaurants. Upper King is the new center of Charleston’s renowned restaurant and night life. A recent survey of the “Essential 18 Charleston Restaurants” has seven of these restaurants (Hominey Grill, Indaco, The Grocery, The Macintosh, The Ordinary, Two Boroughs Larder, , Xiao Bao Biscuit) within four blocks of the cottage.

This is a fabulous house in a spectacular one and one half acre garden setting. It is a well loved family home that we have owned since 1986. Our children have learned to water ski, sail, crab, fish, swim and kayak right off of the convenient and charming deep water dock.
